Of course I got to live through the times the film was made & it brings back the craziness & naivete of the world we thought could exist & did for awhile. I'm assuming the gentler side of the sexual revolution of the film then as I also saw the violent side that existed. I had a difficult time thinking of him as Miller, especially since Ward will always be REMO WILLIAMS to me. I picked up a copy of ...CLICHY and understand why it was banned. For certain elements, it's a very good film. On so many other levels, though, I was bored by the ethic of 'shock for the mere sake of shock'. I discovered and "purloined" a paperback version of the book pub. in 1965; "An Evergreen Black Cat Book" with: "Over 75 illustrations (photos) from the film". These stills are wonderfull and truly bring the book to life. . . but back to that film?
